Up until recently I knew little of Goddess Cathy Venus save a fleeting glimpse of Her YouTube page. As a prelude to listening to Her new mp3, ‘The Inception’, Cathy advises that you a) watch the film, and b) watch her studies series on YouTube. My initial intention was to watch the three short studies in one night, then listen to Cathy’s ‘Inception’ the next. But I became so enamored with the studies that night upon night, I put off ‘the Inception’, and indeed, all other trance activity. All this despite the underlying feeling whilst watching that ‘these aren’t really aimed at me’. They are short, sharp, intense, yet with a sense of humour. I can’t recall ever having giggled in the middle of a trance before…I hope it was intentional! Ever so addicting, the studies also introduced me to another trait that purveys through Goddess Cathy’s works, a physical sensation of warmth, akin to being wrapped in a warm woolen blanket. The lack of a wakening to the third study was also wonderful, leaving me in a delicious state of helpless zombification for a long time after.
The induction for this recording is short and light, but then for me it didn’t need to be anything more, I began to drift the moment Cathy spoke Her first words. I have been ‘conditioned’, the groundwork lain in the studies. Usually I prefer to listen to a session cold, with little more than a title and perhaps the briefest of synopsis. Indeed, one of my favourite experiences is laying back and hitting shuffle, like getting on a train without knowing its destination. I almost regret not having listened to ‘the Inception’ without the studies. It would have been of interest to experience the effectiveness of the induction without the ‘conditioning’, or indeed, just how deep the trance could get. But then again, I wouldn’t trade this warmth for anything right now.
Foremost, this is more an hypnotic adventure than a regular hypno-session. Akin to many a fantasy session from many a vendor, yet distinct in that, having watched the movie on which it is based the visualization of locations and settings comes so easily and readily to mind. The less work for the imagination perhaps a key reason for the effectiveness of the trance. For me, erotic hypnosis scenarios suffer in terms of depth when compared to a more general relax, drop and trance sessions, possibly due to the extra work the brain must do to create the scenes being described by the hypnotist. ‘The Inception’, with its sets already installed in the mind by the movie, suffers no such compromise; I was able to drop very deep indeed. The deepening is cleverly worked into the narrative progression. A finger click preludes the change of scene, the next ‘dream within a dream’. The background audio changes, the canvas cleared, and you take a literal hypnotic drop into the next scene. Very effective and very satisfying.
The filmatic score is dramatic and maintains an exciting tension throughout. The pace develops with the story. For the most part it all fits together nicely with the script. Cathy Venus’s voice is a soothing blend of charm and sensuality, retaining an even quality. Although when required by script She is able to impart a sense of urgency and emotion into Her delivery which adds much to the tension.
There are no erotic elements to this trance, but there is sensuality provided in the form Jenna Anne, the most kissable of leading ladies. Triggers and suggestions from the aforementioned studies are easily recognized, giving the session a familiarity which aids the relaxation. During the session I experienced a little skin tingling, and a lot of warmth as described before. The awakening was also well executed as you shoot up back through the layers. Only now do you get the sense of just how deep Goddess Cathy took you.
There is a core message in the narrative on which the session is built around. Towards the end as the pace quickens to the climax, and in true movie style, the meaning is revealed and all ends are tied up cleanly. Once the session was over and my mind eventually cleared some time later in the evening, I was able to sit and mull over the message. And here for me is the true delight of this mp3. It gave me something to think about. Now it matters little whether I agreed with the message, nor whether it will have any future relevance to me. It is enough that it provoked contemplation.
As for Goddess Cathy, I still know little of Her. And yet Her words, Her studies and Her warmth has me suddenly surrounded by mirrors and forced to interrogate my own reflection. Every little thing is now unbalanced, astray and disoriented. What was…is right, wrong? What is Goddess? Every word I’ve written now seems challenged and falls away. Each perceived desire, want, and need now questioned. I find myself unsteady, unsure of which way to turn. Her Warmth, oh god the warmth. It’s just that… She’s taken away my gravity.
